One smell of this beautiful flower and I am instantly transported to Hawaii. It is the flower that is used in making leis and is one of the first things you smell when you step off the plane. But, it is not just a pretty flower.
Plumeria, (also known as frangipani) is found in tropical climates and its benefits are many. Frangipani oil has antioxidants, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that makes it a great skin moisturizer. The sap from the tree bark has been used to overcome swelling due to an allergic reaction or an insect bite and is also used to treat a toothache. Olive oil and frangipani flowers have been used to treat ulcers. The roots have been used to treat diabetes. AND it smells sooooo good!
It never ceases to amaze me how well nature provides for us. Whenever I look up the benefits of a plant it is never for just one thing. We truly live in the garden of Eden. We all need to treat it as such.
