Every holiday season we like to order protea flowers from Hawaii. It is a great reminder of our year we spent there. It is also, of course, great photography opportunities for nature photographers — especially when you live in the north and not much is growing outside. Pincushion proteas are one of our favorites. I think you can see why. In some cultures the protea flower symbolizes change and transformation.
